Saraswati Puja

On October 1, 2025, Goddess Saraswati – the deity of knowledge – is worshipped. Books, musical instruments, and learning tools are placed before the deity and remain untouched until Vijayadashami morning. Special homam, abhishekam, and aarti are held in temples.

Ayudha Puja

Also on October 1, 2025, tools, vehicles, and instruments used in daily work are cleaned and worshipped. Temples perform the Purnahuti of Chandi Homam on this auspicious day (Maha Navami).

Golu in South India

During Navaratri, devotees arrange dolls of gods and goddesses on steps in their puja room, known as 'Bommai Golu'. Friends and relatives visit, receive prasad, and kumkum is offered to women.

Vijayadashami

Celebrated on October 2, 2025. 'Aksharabhyasam' – the initiation of education for children – takes place. Kids write 'Om' in rice. It is also an auspicious day to start new ventures and immerse the idol of Goddess Saraswati.
